Coral Gables is a planned city known as "The City Beautiful." It has Mediterranean Revival architecture, tree-canopied streets, and strict design standards that keep it looking that way. Downtown Gables centers on Miracle Mile and Giralda Plaza. Merrick Park adds upscale shopping, and landmarks like the Biltmore Hotel and the Venetian Pool are part of everyday life. The University of Miami is here too, and EVR's office is at 2525 Ponce de Leon Blvd., so this is our home turf.
Elegant, established, and family-oriented. Coral Gables is quieter than the urban core but has an excellent restaurant scene, a strong sense of community, and a bilingual, international character. Mostly single-family homes, including historic Mediterranean Revival estates, waterfront homes, and newer builds. Downtown and Merrick Park also have boutique and mid-rise condos, along with a few larger mixed-use buildings.
Coral Gables Senior High (450 Bird Rd.), Coral Gables Preparatory Academy (PK–8, 105 Minorca Ave.), and Henry S. West Laboratory School (K8, 5300 Carillo St.) are Miami-Dade County Public Schools located in the city. Private options include St. Theresa Catholic School (2701 Indian Mound Trail). Magnet programs have their own application windows, and neighborhood school assignment depends on your address, so check with M-DCPS.
The free Coral Gables Trolley runs along Ponce de Leon Boulevard between the Douglas Road Metrorail station and Flagler Street, and a separate free Southern Loop runs from the Douglas Road station to Red Road. Citywide, Walk Score rates Coral Gables 56 for walking, 38 for transit, and 56 for biking. Downtown is much more walkable: our office at 2525 Ponce de Leon Blvd. scores 96 for walking.
